Who's Behind This

SaaSpick is run by Sonu Ahluwalia, who has spent years working with SaaS tools across multiple verticals — running small businesses, evaluating tooling for other operators, and watching how tools deliver on their promises (or don't). This isn't a venture-backed publication or a thin-content affiliate site. It's one person who's tired of reading SaaS reviews that read like vendor brochures, so I started writing the reviews I wished existed.

Why SaaSpick Exists

The SaaS review ecosystem has a problem: most of it is owned by people who get paid more when you buy the more expensive thing. That’s a fine business model if the reviewer is transparent about it and still applies real judgment. Most aren’t, and most don’t.

What’s missing is a publication that:

  • Actually uses the tools it reviews, not just summarizes the marketing pages
  • Tells you when a free tier is genuinely sufficient (often) and when you need to pay (sometimes)
  • Names specific tradeoffs, including the ones the vendor would rather you not consider
  • Is honest when the “best” answer depends on your specific situation, instead of pretending one tool wins for everyone

SaaSpick tries to be that publication. Whether we succeed is up to you to judge over time.

Our Editorial Approach

Every review on this site follows the same general process:

  1. We use the tool. Free trials, paid tiers when relevant. We don’t review tools we haven’t touched.
  2. We compare it to its real alternatives. Not its marketing competitors — the tools you’d actually pick instead.
  3. We note where it fails. Every tool has failure modes. We say what they are.
  4. We give specific recommendations. “It depends” is sometimes the right answer, but we say what it depends on, and what we’d pick under common conditions.
  5. We update over time. Tools change. We revisit reviews as products evolve.

How We Make Money

SaaSpick earns affiliate commissions on some of the links in our reviews. When you sign up for a tool through one of our affiliate links, the vendor pays us a small commission. You pay the same price either way — the commission comes out of the vendor’s marketing budget, not your pocket.

What this changes about our reviews: nothing about the content. We review tools the same way whether they have an affiliate program or not. We’ve recommended tools we don’t earn commission on and criticized tools we do.

What it does change: we tend to review tools we can actually monetize, because that’s what sustains the site. We’re explicit about this trade-off rather than pretending it doesn’t exist.
