1. PURPOSE AND IMPLEMENTATION
1.1
A standardised affiliate disclosure block shall be created and maintained as a Reusable Block, Synced Pattern, or equivalent reusable content component within WordPress / Gutenberg.
1.2
The purpose of maintaining a centralised disclosure block is to ensure consistency, transparency, and regulatory compliance across all commercial content published on the Site. Any modification to the disclosure language shall automatically apply across all posts utilising the reusable pattern.
2. PLACEMENT REQUIREMENTS
2.1
The affiliate disclosure block shall be displayed prominently:
At the top of every commercial post;
Above the fold;
Prior to any heading, image, advertisement, affiliate link, or substantive content.
2.2
The disclosure block must appear within a visually distinct container, including but not limited to a light grey, light blue, or light yellow tinted background.
2.3
The disclosure shall:
Be immediately visible upon page load;
Not be concealed within an accordion, expandable element, popup, tooltip, or collapsible section;
Remain clearly distinguishable from surrounding editorial content.
3. MEANING OF “COMMERCIAL POST”
3.1
For the purposes of this policy, a “commercial post” means any article, review, comparison, ranking, or content page containing one or more affiliate links or monetised referral links.
3.2
Purely editorial or non-commercial content, including opinion articles, news commentary, informational updates, or launch content that does not contain affiliate links, shall not require the per-post disclosure block. However, such pages may continue to display the site-wide footer disclosure.
4. STANDARD DISCLOSURE LANGUAGE
4.1
The following disclosure language shall be used uniformly across all commercial posts without modification:

4.2
The phrase “Full Affiliate Disclosure” shall contain a direct hyperlink to the Site’s dedicated Affiliate Disclosure page.
5. COMPANION DISCLOSURE ELEMENTS
5.1 Inline Affiliate Link Disclosure
An additional inline disclosure should appear adjacent to the first affiliate link contained within the body of the article.
Suggested wording:

Such disclosure should:
Appear in italics and within brackets;
Be placed immediately following the first affiliate hyperlink;
Serve as an additional point-of-action disclosure in accordance with FTC “clear and conspicuous” disclosure standards and equivalent ASCI guidance.
5.2 Persistent Footer Disclosure
The following abbreviated disclosure shall appear within the footer of the Site and remain visible across all pages, including non-commercial editorial content:

6. GUTENBERG / WORDPRESS IMPLEMENTATION PROCEDURE
The following implementation process should be followed:
Create or open a draft post within WordPress;
Insert a “Group” block within the Gutenberg editor;
Apply a light tinted background colour (for example:
#f7f4eaor equivalent);Insert a Paragraph block containing the approved disclosure language;
Apply bold formatting to the introductory label “Heads up:”;
Insert a functional hyperlink directing users to
/affiliate-disclosure;Select the Group block and create a reusable pattern or synced block through the WordPress block editor;
Save the reusable component under the identifier:
affiliate-disclosure-block;Insert the reusable disclosure block into all future commercial posts through the Gutenberg block inserter.
7. MANDATORY COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
The following requirements are mandatory and shall apply uniformly across all commercial content:
The disclosure wording shall remain materially consistent across all posts;
The disclosure must appear above the fold and before any commercial or editorial content;
The disclosure must be visually distinguishable from ordinary body text;
The disclosure must be immediately visible and shall not require user interaction to access;
Each disclosure must contain a direct hyperlink to the full Affiliate Disclosure page;
Disclosures shall comply with applicable transparency and endorsement requirements, including FTC guidelines, ASCI influencer advertising guidelines, and comparable international disclosure standards.
